Troubleshooting Interface Issues

Common troubleshooting steps for issues with interface orders flowing in and out of the system.

Note: Some steps here may require your company’s IT to be involved. In addition, some interfaces have different requirements, and this guide may not apply. Contact Kahler Automation’s Service Department for more information.

The flow chart below shows common troubleshooting steps that can be used to narrow down the cause of interface issues that may occur. Start from the top and follow the prompts to narrow down the cause. More detailed explanations are included below the flowchart for each numbered cause.

  1. Product Config Issues: If the order is found under “Missing an order?” or is in TMX but not PSX, check the Product List report under Products. Correct any misconfiguration of the product that may be discovered there. Product Setup Tool can be used to update product setup.
  2. Missing Cross Ref or Product: If the Event Log Report indicates a Cross Reference ID is not found, make sure the product in question has been created in Terminal Management TMX, and that a Cross Reference ID has been tied to it. The Product Setup Tool can be used to update Cross Reference IDs. See the Product section of Maintaining Products in Terminal Management TMX .
  3. No Order Delivered: If there is no error in the alarm history file and nothing in the interface order file location, then no order file has been received. Check your ERP/Agronomy software and with your IT.
  4. Interface is Not Running: If the order file has been received but is not being imported to Terminal Management TMX, the interface may not be running. Contact Kahler Automation support for assistance.
  5. Check Privileges: If the order file has been received and the interface task is confirmed running, there may be an issue with privileges and/or user accounts used to access order files. Check with IT or contact Kahler Automation support for assistance.
  6. Change Completion: If the order has been dispensed from PSX but is not reporting back due to the order not being marked complete, mark the order complete manually. The order completion percentage may be adjusted under Facilities to prevent this on future orders.
  7. Contact IT: If the order is complete in Terminal Management TMX but will not report back, check the order file location. If you’re unable to create a file and edit its contents there, contact IT.
  8. User Running Task Privilege: If the task will not run and the results are not being reported back to an ERP/Agronomy system, contact IT about possible privilege issues or call Kahler Automation support.
