KA-2025 Panel Server connects KA-2025s to the rest of the Kahler Automation system and may need to be restarted in some circumstances, such as a changed setting or if KA-2025s are reporting an “Accessing… Host Response Error” message.
This article only applies to KA-2025 Panel Server if it is set up to run as an executable. Panel Server is set up to use an executable to enable printing from KA-2025 panel server. If KA-2025 Panel Server is run as a service, refer to Restarting the KA-2025 Panel Server Service for more information.
Option 1: Desktop Shortcut
Exit out of Panel Server if it is running. It will normally be found on the taskbar of the computer it runs on.
To restart KA-2025 Panel Server check for a link on the desktop of the machine -- look for a shortcut named “PanelServer.exe” and run it. Note that the user needs to be an administrator on the machine to start the KA-2025 Panel Server executable.
Option 2: Restart the Computer
If there is no ability to start the server manually, restart the computer on which panel server runs to force the service to restart. Note: This may take some time and could interrupt other Kahler Automation services.
Note: The KA-2025 Panel Server Executable needs to be left running on the server machine at all times. Closing the program will result in an “Accessing… Host Response Error” message and interrupted service. The executable may be minimized to the taskbar and left.
The running executable will look similar to what is shown below. Check for the “Communication Completed” message at the bottom of the window. The time listed should be recent; KA-2025s refresh every 5 minutes by default.
