Best practice for what Kahler Automation software should go on what machines.
Applies to
- New site commissioning
- Moving software to new machines
Kahler Automation software is commonly loaded on two types of machines: a server machine, and one or more loadout machines. The most basic recommended setup will be a pair of machines: one server, running the database and Terminal Management TMX, and one loadout machine, running Plant Supervisor PSX.
Every site is different and details may vary to meet requirements.
Server machine
A server machine for Kahler Automation software often hosts the database and Terminal Management TMX. Additionally, this machine can run supporting software such as interfaces and KA-2025 panel server. This machine should be a standalone system and not in regular use by employees on-site.
Example software list on a server machine
- SQL Server
- Terminal Management TMX
- Interface software
- KA-2025 Panel Server
This list is not all-inclusive; some software on this list is only required in certain situations.
Loadout machines
A loadout machine is a system that will be in day-to-day use by site employees. Examples of loadout software are Plant Supervisor PSX, Self-serve 2, or Truck Scale Management, and supporting software such as on-screen controls.
