This feature allows a ticket’s Flush/Rise amounts to be included in the total amount reported by reallocating product.
Applies to:
- Plant Supervisor PSX versions 4.24.18 and later
The addition of the Flush/Rinse Reallocation sub-tab lets operators link products used on the same or different panels, so that Plant Supervisor PSX accounts for the flush/rinse product used by reducing another product.
This allows Flush/Rinse products, which would otherwise be dispensed in addition to the requested order, to instead reduce the requested amounts for specified products to avoid diluting the delivered order.
An example is that once configured, Plant Supervisor PSX will reduce an order’s amount of water dispensed by the amount of purge water used to rinse the weigh tank. There is a reserve amount below which the system will not reduce the request amount.
Configuring Flush/Rinse Reallocation
Before configuring the Flush/Rinse Reallocation, set up the system’s Flush/Rinse Configuration. More information can be found at Flush and Rinse Settings and Liquid System Flush Water Configuration.
Once Flush/Rinse has been configured, select the “Reallocation” tab under “Flush/Rinse” as shown. This page will configure reallocations the system can use.
Follow these steps for each Flush/Rinse product that has been configured and needs to be reallocated:
NOTE: Bulk product densities must match for a flush/rinse product to be reallocatable.
- Click the “Add” button.
- Click on the added setting line to select it for editing.
- Select the Panel from where the Order Bulk Product will be dispensed.
- Set the Bulk Product from which capacity should be reallocated.
- Set the Reserve amount. Plant Supervisor PSX cannot reallocate when the resulting request for Order Bulk Product is less than the reserve amount. Operators will be warned if the request cannot be reallocated due to reserve setting.
TIP: The reserve amount will vary depending on site and contamination concerns. Reserve MUST NOT be less than twice the anticipation amount. On most sites the Panel Hold Back amount is a recommended initial setting. Reserve amounts being set too low may result in unexpected behavior and contamination concerns.
7. Set the Bulk Product to which capacity should be reallocated.
8. Click the “Save” button to confirm the setting.
Tickets with Flush/Rinse Reallocation
Below is a sample ticket created with reallocation configured. Note how “Purge Water” and “Weigh Tank Flush Water” are listed under the “Water” product, indicating they are part of the total amount of water for the order.
Note: Flush/Rinse products that are not reallocated will instead be in addition to the order. Reallocation may not occur if densities do not match, if reallocation would result in the order bulk product request amount being less than the reserve amount, or if reallocation is not configured.
