      Connecting a TMX Site to Constellation

      Instructions for connecting a TMX site to Constellation to enable exchanging information with Constellation

      1. Install the Constellation Connector for TMX on the TMX server PC as described here

      2. Login to Constellation and navigate to the sites page by selecting “Sites” from the top right dropdown or directly accessing the page here

      3. On the sites page, create a site and name it according to the TMX site that is going to be connected

      4. Next navigate to the Constellation Connector for TMX main page on the site’s TMX server PC at http://localhost/ConstellationConnectorForTmx/.

        Note that depending on the network setup at the site, it may be necessary to remote into the server and/or replace localhost with the server PC’s IP address (e.g. http://192.168.0.0/ConstellationConnectorForTmx/)

        Press the Register button to begin the process of registering the TMX site with Constellation. This process will begin by redirecting the browser to Constellation

      5. Once redirected to Constellation, login then the browser will be automatically redirected to the site registration page. On this page, find the site that was created in the first step and press the corresponding Register button. This will link the TMX site with Constellation and redirect the browser back to the Constellation Connector for TMX where the registration process will automatically complete.

        Note that after a TMX site has been registered to a site in Constellation, the site in Constellation cannot be registered again. This prevents accidentally linking two TMX sites to a single Constellation site. If you need assistance reassigning or unassigning sites, please contact Kahler Automation.

      6. After being redirected back to the Connector, you will be prompted to pre-assign existing TMX entities to Constellation entities. This will cause existing TMX entities to be taken over by Constellation and will prevent the need to manually resolve every conflict with existing entities. You may also navigate away from the Connector page and pre-assign at a future time before the Connector starts running. 

        Once pre-assignment is skipped or completed, the main Constellation Connector for TMX page will show your connection to Constellation as “Operational”
