KA-2000 units require a connection to a panel to function. Losing connection will result in a Panel Response Error.
Applies to:
- KA-2000
A Panel Response Error will prevent a Kahler Automation system from running in automatic. The error is in response to a loss of communication with a required device. This article takes a look at first steps that can be taken to address the issue.
A Panel Response Error indicates that the KA-2000 is unable to communicate with the panel or PLC that controls the equipment on-site; manual operation may still be possible.
On current systems the KA-2000 connects to the panel over the network, so ensure the ethernet cable is plugged into the port on the right-hand side of the KA-2000 and there are no network issues.
Some systems will use the PLC port on the KA-2000 to connect to the panel. This is the large locking port found on the bottom right side of the KA-2000. Ensure this is plugged in and locked.
If everything looks good, try power cycling the panel and note if there is any change. When power cycling equipment always leave the device unpowered for at least 15 seconds before powering it back up.
