General Printing in Kahler Automation Software

A ticket can be printed to one or more printers after an order is dispensed. This article provides general guidance on setting up printing and links to specific articles for Kahler software.

Common Cause(s)

  • Ticket is needed by truck driver to satisfy department of transportation requirements
  • Customer requires a printed receipt of what was dispensed

Environment / Applies To

  • Plant Supervisor PSX
  • Self-Serve 2
  • KA-2025 Panel Server
  • Truck Scale Management
  • Container Filling 2

Solution In-Depth

Printing settings are found in the configuration section of programs, generally accessed by clicking the wrench icon (shown) in the top right of the program and navigating to the "Printing" tab

NOTE: KA-2025 Panel Server Configuration is a separate program for the purpose of configuring KA-2025 Panel Server and requires administrative rights on the machine to run or make changes.

Once on the printing section of the configuration of a program, they all function in a similar manner, choosing a printer from the list, and setting how many copies should be printed to that printer when something needs to be printed. Any combination of printer may be configured and each can have its own number of copies to print (ex. two copies to a printer in a bay and one to the office).

NOTE: Kahler software uses the list of printers installed on the machine it runs on. If a printer is not available in the list, ensure it is installed on the machine and try exiting out of the program entirely and re-opening it.

A common setting under printing is "Printing timeout (sec)". This is how long should be allowed for the software to attempt to print before it stops trying and records an error.

Caution: Printing timeouts must be long enough for the printer to receive the print job. Default setting is 300.

Margin settings have been added to some Kahler software. If tickets or other documents printed by Kahler software appears to be cut off on the edges, adjusting margin settings may correct for the issue.
