A ticket can be printed to one or more printers after an order is dispensed. This article describes steps that can be taken to troubleshoot when tickets are printed to the wrong printer, including the wrong number of copies printed.
Common Cause(s)
- Microsoft Windows managing default printed
- Printer driver set to use WSD
Environment / Applies To
- Plant Supervisor 4
- Plant Supervisor PSX
- Self-Serve 2
- KA-2025 Panel Server
- Truck Scale Management
Solution In-Depth
This article assumes that the printer driver has been installed and configured on the computer that is running the load-out application.
Verify that Windows is not set to manage the default printer
The applications that print tickets require setting the default printer for the system to specify where the ticket should print. Because of this, the system may conflict with Microsoft Windows controlling the default printer. This functionality should be disabled in the system.
- Select (Start Menu) -> (Settings) -> Devices -> Printer & scanners
- Scroll down the Printers and scanners page, until the option "Let Windows manage my default printer" is found
- Disable this option
Verify that the port assigned to a printer is not using WSD
Secure Web Services on Devices (WSD) ports can cause tickets to print to the wrong printer, or not print at all. To resolve this, the port assigned to a printer must be set to use TCP/IP instead of WSD
- Select (Start Menu) -> (Settings) -> Devices -> Printer & scanners
- Select your printer and select Manage
- Select Printer properties -> Ports
- Select Standard TCP/IP Port or create a new port for your printer
