Setup Honeywell PD45 Label Printer for Use with Container Filling 2

The Honeywell PD45 label printer may be used to print container labels using the Container Filling application.

This applies to the USB Version of the PD45 Label Printer

Solution

Unpack the printer, and install the label roll and ink ribbon according to the instructions included with the printer.

Warning: Do not connect the printer to the computer at this time, you will be prompted to do this later.

Download the printer driver

Download the printer driver here.

Once the download is complete, extract the files from the downloaded file.

Install the printer driver

Find and run the DriverWizard program in the extracted files

  1. At the prompt for "What would you like to do" choose "Install printer drivers" and click Next
  2. At the prompt for "How is this printer going to be attached?" choose "USB"
  3. Connect the printer to a power outlet
  4. Connect the printer to the computer using a USB Type B cable
  5. Turn the printer on
  6. Choose "Install a driver for a Plug and Play printer" and click Next
  7. Enter a name for the printer or leave it at the default setting "Honeywell PD45 (203 dpi)" and click Next

Note: the option to "Use this printer as the default printer" is enabled by default and may be disabled.

  • Click Finish to begin the driver installation process 
  • Click Close when the Driver Wizard completes

Configure Container Filling

Note: Container Filling version 2.23.0 or later is required

  1. Open and log in to the Container Filling application
  2. Open configuration (click the wrench in the upper-right corner of the application window)
  3. In the Configuration window, click the Barcode Printer tab
  4. Select "DPL" as the Printer Type and select the printer that was installed in the previous section in the drop-down menu
