Common Cause(s)

  • The SQL Service has stopped running and needs to be restarted.

Environment/Applies to

  • Windows 10

  • Terminal Management Server computer

Terminal Management uses SQL data management. SQL runs on a Windows service program which operates in the background on your computer. Sometimes a computer experiences a glitch which then halts the SQL service, and consequently, the Terminal Management program. The service must be restarted using the steps  below.

Solution

  1. Close the error page.
  2. Launch the Windows Services app and start the SQL Service.

TIP: Step 2 must be performed on the Terminal Management SERVER computer; sometimes referred to as the master computer.

    1. On your computer keyboard, simultaneously press the Windows key windows-key and the R key.
    2. Type services.msc and hit Enter. The Services app window will open.
    3. Scroll down the list to the S's. Find and right-click on SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER)
    4. Click Start.
    5. Close the Services window
  1. Relaunch Terminal Management.
