Meter Bad Data
KA-2000 may receive data it cannot accept or understand from connected scales.
Applies to:
- KA-2000
A Meter Bad Data Error will prevent a Kahler Automation system from running in automatic until the error state is cleared.

Most meters are connected with the scale ports found on the KA-2000. Scale port 1 is found on the bottom side of the KA-2000 at the far left; scale port 2 is found on the left side of the KA-2000 and may not be used. Some configurations may connect several meters via daisy-chain to one of the ports or use a single scale screen for more than one connected scale. Locate the connected scale screen(s) and note any status lights or error messages that indicate an error.
Connected scales may cause a Meter Bad Data error message as a result of exceeding the calibrated range of the scale, a bad load cell, a negative weight reading, or a misconfigured scale head following replacement/calibration. Check that the scale reading is shown and updates when adding or removing weight.
If everything looks good, try power cycling the meter and note if there is any change. When power cycling equipment, always leave the device unpowered for at least 15 seconds before powering it back up.
Note: A Meter Response Error indicates a separate issue, caused by the meter not communicating to the controller.
