Options Available for Configuring Overscaling Percentages
Applies to:
- Terminal Management TMX
Introduction (Usage)
There are several options for using overscaling in Terminal Management TMX that can be set based on the site’s needs. Overscaling is the allowed overrun of a dispense request for an order before the system warns or blocks the user. This setting gives flexibility to system operators to ensure trucks are fully filled before leaving the facility, improving throughput. Overscaling can help meet these requirements.
Setting Overscaling Per Order
This option is the percentage above the requested quantities that may be requested. Overscaling (%) must be a numeric value greater than or equal to 0.
Note:
- Self Serve 2 enforces amounts that drivers may request based on the overscaling for an order.
- Plant Supervisor PSX will warn facility operators when requesting more than the permitted amounts.
- Log in to TMX and select the Orders menu from the left-hand list of options.
- Confirm that the page opens to the Orders sub-menu.
- Select the facility attached to the order by using the drop-down.
- Find the order by using the drop-down, searching for the order number, or performing an advanced search.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the "Other" section.
- Enter the desired overscaling value for the order (as a percentage) into the text box.
Using Overscaling as a Preset Order Setting
This option sets an overscaling percentage that will automatically be entered for a manually created order.
- Log in to TMX and select the "General Settings" menu from the left-hand list of options.
- Click on the "Order" sub-menu.
- Enter the overscaling percentage value under the “Preset order settings” section on the right side of the page.
Setting Overscale Percent for an Interface
Depending on which type of agronomy software being used, the interface used to import orders into TMX may have the option of setting an over-scale percentage. The overscaling set in the interface is the amount that a driver is allowed to request over the original asked-for amount on unstaffed dispensing systems.
NOTE: Interface settings can have major impacts on the function of Kahler Automation systems. Changes should be made only after reviewing business implications.
- Log in to TMX and select the "Interfaces" menu from the left-hand list of options.
- The sub-menu can contain one interface instance or multiple instances depending on company requirements or specific site configuration. Select the name of the interface that requires overscaling set.
- Find the setting for “Overscale percent” then enter the overscale number as a percentage.
- Save the changes.
NOTE: Each interface configuration page is different and customized for that individual piece of software. Users must look around the interface configuration page to see if a field is available for overscaling. If an area to enter an overscale percentage isn’t found, it’s most likely not available for that interface, or the interface may need to be updated. If a red asterisk is near the field, an overscale percentage must be specified.
