Adding a tank from Tank Level Monitoring to Terminal Management TMX

Tank levels from a Tank Level Monitoring (TLM) system may be tied into Terminal Management TMX.

Requirements:

  • Kahler Automation Tank Level Monitoring system
  • Terminal Management TMX with the Tanks Module

Contact Kahler Automation with any questions about the requirements for tying TLM to Terminal Management TMX. That connection should be done during system installation and is required for the following setup.

From Terminal Management TMX, navigate to the “Tanks” section and then to the “Tanks” tab as shown below.

With the “Tank” dropdown set to “Enter a new tank,” fill in the remaining information:

  • Name: A unique name to identify the tank
  • Owner: The owner of the product in the tank
  • Facility: The facility where the tank exists
  • Bulk Product: The bulk product the tank it set to contain
  • Unit: The unit of measure that the bulk product in the tank is measured with
  • Panel: The TLM Panel that is used to monitor the tank level
  • Sensor: The sensor input on the panel connected to this tanks level sensor

Click the “Save” button to add the tank.

Note: The owner, facility, and bulk product will affect the inventory that tank will be reported alongside in inventory reports.

If the panel and sensor number are correct, the tank will show up on the Tank Levels page when the panel is next checked; this should take less than 5 minutes.
