Adding a Driver Record

Driver records represent drivers who are authorized to pick up loads.

Applies to

  • Terminal Management TMX
  • Self Serve 2
  • LOADPASS
  • Plant Supervisor PSX

A driver's number is used to identify them in Self Serve 2, Panel Server, and LOADPASS. In Plant Supervisor PSX, a driver can be selected by name or number. Driver information can be entered when staging or dispensing an order, and can be configured to print or display on tickets. An optional password can also be assigned.

Solution

In Terminal Management TMX, navigate to "Drivers" > "Drivers".

Driver records represent drivers who are authorized to pick up loads.

Driver drop-down list: to modify an existing driver, select the driver from the drop-down list. To enter a new driver, select "Enter a new driver" from the drop-down list.

Note: Driver records managed by Constellation must be edited in Constellation. Sites may still set Self Serve 2 permissions and disable a driver locally in TMX.

Name: The name of the driver is required and may be up to 50 characters in length.

Owner: The owner this driver is associated with.

Number: A number that represents the driver. The driver uses this number to identify themselves at a Self Serve 2, or in LOADPASS. The number is set manually by an administrator — it is not auto-assigned. The number is optional and may be up to 50 characters in length.

Street: The street address of the driver is optional and may be up to 50 characters in length.

City: The city where the driver is located is optional and may be up to 50 characters in length.

State: The state or province that the driver is in is optional and may be up to 50 characters in length.

Zip code: The zip code for the driver is optional and may be up to 15 characters in length.

Phone: The phone number for the driver is optional and may be up to 50 characters in length.

E-mail: If the system is configured to e-mail tickets, a ticket will be sent to this address (or addresses) when the ticket is created by a system referencing this driver. E-mail is optional; multiple addresses may be entered separated by a comma.

Notes: Notes for the driver are optional.

Password: An optional password the driver may be asked to enter at a KA-2025 keypad, Self Serve 2, or LOADPASS when identifying themselves.

Disabled: Used to temporarily disable access to systems.

Finding a Driver's Number

If a driver does not know their number, an administrator can look it up in TMX.

To see all drivers and their numbers at once, navigate to "Drivers" > "All Drivers Report".

To look up or edit an individual driver's number, navigate to "Drivers" > "Drivers", select the driver from the drop-down list, and locate the "Number" field.

If the Number field is blank, the driver does not have a number assigned. Enter a number and click Save.

Driver Number Entry at LOADPASS

When LOADPASS is configured to require driver information, the driver will be prompted to enter their number before an order can be staged.

1. When staging the order, the driver is prompted to enter their Driver Number.
2. The driver enters their number and confirms.
3. If the number matches a driver record, the order staging process continues.

If a driver enters a number that does not match any record, access is denied. An administrator must verify the driver's number in TMX (see Finding a Driver's Number above) and provide it to the driver. LOADPASS may also suspend a driver — see LOADPASS Administration - Carrier/Driver Info (https://help.kahlerautomation.com/en/knowledge/loadpass-administration-carrier-driver-info) for details.

Self Serve 2 Permissions

Self Serve 2 permissions may require additional configuration in Self Serve 2 before use. See this section for some additional information.

  • Can dispense partial orders: Allows the specified driver to select which individual products and quantities they can dispense at the time of loading if this functionality is enabled in the Self Serve 2 - application.
  • Can dispense hand add products: Allows the specified driver to dispense orders that have a hand add assigned to them for the panel associated with the Self Serve 2 application if this functionality is enabled in the Self Serve 2 application.

Interfaces

Interfaces to 3rd party software packages may require that interface settings for each driver that may be specified by the 3rd party software package setup.

Interface settings: Contains a list of all the available interface setting records. To modify an existing interface setting record, select it from the drop-down list. To add a new interface setting record, select "Add an interface" from the drop-down list.

Interface: Selects the interface that this branch interface settings correspond to.

Cross reference: A cross reference used to identify the branch when received in an order or sent as a ticket through an interface with a 3rd party software package. Cross reference may be up to 50 characters in length.

Default setting: Used when there are multiple values set for an item for an interface, and the interface setting was not set for the item to be exported for this interface (exporting manually created orders, exporting to an interface from which it was not imported from, etc.).

Export only: Used only for outbound tickets, to allow for multiple cross references available for different branches. If checked, then this cross reference will not be used for inbound interface lookups.

Save interface: Click to save the branch interface settings record.

Remove interface: Click to remove the selected branch interface settings record.

Remember to Save.
